I think I may have a problem.

I currently have ten books checked out at the library, and three on hold. That doesn't count the books I bought a couple of weeks ago at Barnes and Noble. Yeah, it's pretty bad. #imabookwormandiknowit

I think the reason for my book bingeing is the overall lack of literary stimulation I experienced throughout the school year. {dance + church + soccer + moutains of homework = no time for reading.} But now that I've had to spend less time memorizing Spanish verb conjugations and equations, I've had more time to indulge in a little fiction here, a little non fiction there.

But when your librarian knows what car you drive, you know you might have an issue.

Yesterday was one of the first truly warm days of the year. To celebrate, my little sister and I went to a little small town book store; one that smells like sunshine and old books. I bought an SAT study guide, and she found a treasure trove of old Nancy Drew mysteries. The picturesque-ness of the moment was only *slightly* ruined when I opened a box of old records, and a cloud of cat fur flew out. Which subsequently caused only a *slightly* embarrassing sneezing fit, as well as our premature departure from the store. #catsareevil

To redeem the situation, we bought lemonades and found a nearby bench to sit on. We sat and smelled the freshly cut grass, counted passing pickup trucks (18,) and watched cute old couples walk their dogs. And I didn't think about my upcoming finals even once.

okay so maybe i did once but then i watched the new Catching Fire trailer to forget my troubles #yolo

reasons why november is a happy month

A lot of people treat November like it's a filler month; the period of time between gorgeous the October, and the silvery beauty of December. But I actually happen to really like November as much, if not more than the other fall months. 

You see, November is when you can begin to listen to Christmas music unabashedly. It's also finally feeling 'wintery', so you can justify wearing tights and scarves and beanies. November mornings are also very misty, and it tends to rain a lot where I live. I don't mind though; November rain > sunshine. 

Also, November is the one month anniversary of Taylor Swift's Red album. (No shame.) It's also perfect for picture taking, and it brings me that much closer to December 23rd. (My half birthday. Yes, I celebrate it. I'll be six months away from being an adult. Woo.) 

Basically, November is a month of book reading, doodling, and reminiscing. It's also a month of anticipation -- after all, November means that Christmas is just around the corner. And let us not forget about The Hobbit premiere.

I love the library, I really do. I love the glorious smells of paper and ink, the hushed whispers of other book hunters, and the soft rustling of turning pages. I read a lot, probably too much in fact; I just enjoy getting lost in a good story. Reading provides a nice {and sometimes much needed} break from reality.

I smuggled my camera in with me on my most recent visit. I received a lot of strange looks... Apparently seeing a teenage girl tote around a huge camera in the library is unusual. {It probably didn't help that it was during school hours. Oh well.}

So. Many. Books.

 I left the library that day with Crossed by Alley Condie, and an SD card filled with pictures. 'Twas a good day indeed. :)

I have discovered something.

Reading The Fault in Our Stars while sipping coffee most definitely makes me happy.

{WARNING: do not read the following paragraph if you have yet to read TFiOS, as it contains spoilers.}

John Green, I love you. Except I also hate you. I mean seriously, how can one person possibly be so full of literary wit? TFiOS made me cry, then laugh, then cry some more. Which is why I loved it. But I'm afraid I can never forgive the author for killing off Augustus -- that was just cruel. {Was it just me, or was Augustus just as amazing as Peeta in the Hunger Games?}

Plus, I kept wondering if the book was going to end mid-sentence. It's really a good thing it didn't, because I would have gone all Hazel Grace on John Green, and stalked him until he finished the story. I'm not the only one who feels this way either, go ask this girl.

But really, if you haven't already, go get TFiOS. It's simply spectacular. {Though it does contain some not-so-good content. Reader discretion advised.}

So many books, so little time

Ahhhh, books. Seriously, there is nothing better on a cold day than wrapping up in a blanket, drinking hot chocolate, and curling up with a story. Preferably fiction, or better yet, fantasy. Yes, a good fantasy is always the best story, at least in my book. (Pun intended :P)

The only problem I have though, is that there are too many awesome books for me to read. With my schedule, I only have time for long periods of  'fun' reading on the weekends, and that hasn't been enough to sate my hunger. I mean really, would you rather be learning about dry subjects like math and chemistry, or would you prefer to escape into an epic adventure, filled with excitement and romance?

 I thought so.

So what is currently on my reading list right now? Well, lets just have a looksee...

WOW. This book is EPIC so far! I'm about 3/4 of the way through it, and I'll probably stay up all night to finish it... I won't exactly be quite alert for church tomorrow, but I MUST finish this book.

*I'm considering doing a review on this one... Would that be totally dumb?*

After I finish Inheritance, this is next up. I've had a couple of friends tell me about it, so its been on my reading list for a while... I'll probably start it during study hall on Wednesday. :P

I'm SO excited to read this one! I absolutely LOVED Markus Zuask's other book, The Book Thief, so I'm expecting great things from this one. :)
